Project GRUBURG
New project started concerning groundwater discharges of biocides from facades in urban regions
A joint project with the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg and the Fraunhofer Institute for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology (IME) on groundwater discharges of biocides from facades in urban regions (GRUBURG) was launched on behalf of the Federal Environment Agency (UBA). The project aims to develop an urban scenario for the worst-case assessment of biocide emissions from roofs and facades into groundwater, to determine the relevance of biocide emissions into groundwater compared to pesticide emission from agriculture, and to develop a practical guide for municipalities to reduce or avoid undesirable biocide emissions.
